For one weekend and one weekend only, we’ve teamed up with the awesome guys from Trail Unknown to put on a one day paddle down the stunning River Wye, followed by a day of guided mountain biking through the leafy Forest of Dean. We will spend the nights under the stars, staying in bell tents set up along a glorious riverside camp spot at YHA Wye Valley! The dream is real.
From Friday 12th July from 4pm, your riverside bell tent palace will be awaiting, bedding and dinner provided.
Day 1 – Paddle
Meet at the YHA Wye Valley for breakfast and briefing. Today we’ll be heading downstream for our guided river adventure complete with SUP rental, instruction from Kev, riverside lunch, grade 1 rapids, BBQ and fire in the evening.
Day 2 – Ride
After breakfast Tom and Hugo of Trail Unknown will teach the core skills of mountain biking before heading off for up to a 20km scenic mountain bike adventure through the Forest of Dean. Mountain bike hire is included and the ride will be suitable for beginners who lead active lifestyles. Lunch included. We’ll finish back at the YHA.

Where will we be staying?
The YHA Wye Valley has parking / a shop / cafe / showers / toilets and even a bar!
We will be hiring out the bell tents from YHA which can sleep up to 4 people. There will be same sex sharing. If you’d prefer, you are welcome to bring your own camping gear, or book into the YHA (not included in the price).
Do I need to be able to swim?
Do I need to be able to ride a bike?
Yes you do need to be able to ride a bike. However, you do not have to have experience mountain biking as this trip is aimed at beginners upwards.
Do I need to have any prior experience of mountain biking / SUPing?
No – We cater to all abilities so everyone from beginner to experience mountain biker/SUP’r will enjoy this adventure.
Do I need to be fit?
You will need to be exercising regularly / lead an active lifestyle
