Our famous Lower Lode loop.

A very interesting two hour loop starting and finishing at The Lower Lode Inn which includes two rivers, a canal and two locks. We begin by paddling up the calm Severn through two locks onto the Tewkesbury canal. A few hundred metres along we portage down onto the narrow winding Avon and back to where we started. Great fun! Can also be done in reverse depending on conditions.

Suitable for beginners who are physically fit and confident in water. We’d recommend completing a beginner’s lesson beforehand. Suitable for 10yo and up, under 17yo need to be accompanied by an adult.   

Please note, this trip involves a 200 meter portage along the bank before getting back onto the river.
